APRIL VASS

Meet April Vass, MSW, RSW

APRIL

April–MSW, CTSA-Certified
Social Worker | RSW MSW | Clinic Owner

For more than a decade, April has been dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate mental health challenges. Before specializing in Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), she worked in hospital emergency departments and alongside police services, providing crisis intervention and mental health support.

During this time, April witnessed how often OCD was misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or treated with approaches that unintentionally reinforced symptoms. Seeing the gap in access to evidence-based care inspired her to pursue advanced training in OCD treatment and ultimately led to the creation of OCD Wellness.

April earned her Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto and is a CTSA-certified clinician in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold-standard treatment for OCD. She believes therapy should be collaborative, compassionate, and practical, empowering individuals and families to regain confidence and take back their lives from OCD.

Recognizing that people are far more than a diagnosis, April tailors treatment to each individual, integrating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based approaches when life is showing up past the OCD. She also provides specialized treatment for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs) using Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Tic Disorders through Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), Treatment for Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Trauma.

Above all, April is passionate about helping people find hope, knowing that with the right treatment, lasting recovery is possible.
